Accelerating academic growth for students with special needs is challenging.
Working with schools throughout our nation, we know how administrators and teachers have struggled to accelerate the academic growth of students with special needs. Assessment and AYP data for students with disabilities show a decrease in districts’ abilities to meet increasingly challenging accountability targets.
Achieving these goals requires strategic and specific skills. Our dedicated and experienced Special Education consultants have worked collaboratively with teachers to implement best practices that make grade-level curriculum make sense for the diverse population of learners within each classroom.

Our consultants know that meeting the needs of our students within special education requires a unique set of skills.

Success in Special Education
Generation Ready has been collaborating with the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens schools on a special education initiative that was funded through the Mother Cabrini Grant.
Since the commencement of this work, schools across the network have taken great strides in both practices and systems related to special education.
Generation Ready Special education coaches have worked with both teachers and administrators to build their capacity in implementing inclusive practices that target tier-one, baseline interventions that are essential to student success. An increase in the use of visuals, the implementation of positive behavior supports, consistent expectations, the economy of language, and explicit instruction around social and emotional learning targets are among some of the many newly adopted practices, as a result of this work.
